According to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Apollo Group’s asteroid 2018 BG5 is coming towards the Earth, which will be its closest in the next 24 hours. This asteroid of the Apollo group was discovered on 22 January 2018. Its size is said to be 170 feet. In comparison it is the size of a large aeroplane. The speed of Asteroid 2018 BG5 is said to be 28,800 kilometers per hour.

Asteroid 2018 BG5 When it reaches close to the Earth, its minimum distance will be 41.2 lakh kilometers. Another prediction has been made about this asteroid. This time it will come near the earth and return again. It has been said that it will come near the Earth again on January 6, 2038, but then it will pass much closer. This means that it may prove to be more dangerous at the time of its next approach after 15 years.

NASA has also issued another asteroid alert for July 27. Asteroid 2023 OR1 will also reach close to the Earth in the next 24 hours. This is a 56 feet rock which is said to be as big as a house. When it reaches its closest point to the Earth, the distance between the two will be 12 lakh kilometers. This sounds like a lot, but in space this distance is considered negligible. Because the size of the planet is so huge that its gravitational effect can reach thousands of kilometers. Therefore, there is a possibility of the asteroid changing direction after coming close to the planet. However, NASA has not yet released any information regarding the collision of these two asteroids with the Earth.
