300 kg RHESSI satellite Re Enter on earth tomorrow morning 19th April 2023 Says Nasa

Many satellites revolving in space are no longer in service and remain a threat to the Earth. One such satellite can enter the atmosphere of our planet tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday. The name of this satellite is- Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI). This is an American satellite, which was retired in the year 2018. Since then it was revolving around the Earth in such an orbit, due to which there was a possibility of it crashing on our planet.

NASA’s Accordingthe RHESSI satellite served for almost 21 years. The responsibility of this satellite was to observe solar flares and coronal mass ejection (CME) emanating from the Sun. According to the information, the RHESSI satellite weighing 300 kg will re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere on Wednesday. The US Defense Department is monitoring the orbit of this satellite.

In a statement, the US space agency NASA has said that most of the satellite is expected to burn in space. The satellite may be destroyed as soon as it enters the Earth’s atmosphere, although some components may survive. NASA hopes that there will be no major damage on Earth due to the RHESSI satellite.

During its stay in service, the RHESSI satellite provided many important information about solar flares and coronal mass ejections. It is worth noting that solar flares and CME are those solar phenomena, due to which everything from power grid to GPS system on Earth can be disrupted. If these are destructive, they can destroy our satellites in space. During its mission, the RHESSI satellite recorded more than 1 lakh solar events.

Now this satellite is going to crash. NASA has estimated that the RHESSI satellite may re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere tomorrow at 7:00 am IST. It remains to be seen how much effect it has on the earth.
