Give new life to old Android phone with these tips

When you bought a new Android phone, its speed must have been excellent. But it gradually started slowing down. And you slowly started getting disappointed. But there is nothing to worry about. This is a very common problem.

As with any desktop or mobile operating system, the performance of Android OS also starts deteriorating over time. Your expectation from a smartphone is that it not only works fast but also gives access to everything. But your phone has become slow because it is old. In such a situation, there is no need to worry. We will give you some tips using which you will be successful in improving the performance of your phone.

1. Know about your mobile
First of all know everything about your phone. What are its capabilities, what are its shortcomings. Only keep these things in mind and have any expectations from the handset. Now there are many free apps available on Google Play, so it does not mean that every one should be installed. You also have to take into account the capacity of your handset.

2. Update Android
If you have not updated your phone for several days, it is possible that it may have become slow due to this also. Actually, Google releases updates from time to time to improve the Android operating system. These updates provide stability to your device. It is possible that performance may also improve and some new features may also be available. Well, the update depends on the company. The good thing about Motorola handsets is that they get regular Android updates. But not every company is Motorola. It’s possible that the update may not be available for your phone. To know this you will have to go to the About Phone section inside Settings. Here tap on System Updates. The phone will check itself to see if an update is available for your phone or not.

3. Remove unnecessary and useless apps from the phone
Every installed app takes up space in the phone’s storage. Along with this it also performs some background tasks. The less storage you have on your phone and the more background processes running, the slower it will become. That is, before installing any app, decide whether you are going to use it again and again. Avoid installing them if there is no urgent need. Many times it happens that you are forced to download apps due to some specific need, but stop using them after a few days. In such a situation, you should constantly check whether any useless app is present on the mobile.

4. Disable bloatware
Many times it happens that mobile companies add some of their apps in new handsets. Or many third party apps are pre-installed. These are called bloatware. Most of these cannot be removed from the phone, although they can be disabled. We would suggest that it would be better if you keep these unnecessary apps closed. However, after factory reset, many third party apps are automatically removed.

5. Clear app cache
As the mobile is used, app cache starts accumulating in it. It eats up system resources and also slows down your phone. By the way, all the apps work on the basis of these caches keeping in mind the needs of the user. But in case the phone becomes slow, you will have to clear the app cache regularly. For this you have to go to the storage menu in settings. Here you will know about cached data. Then tap Cached data. Then click OK to delete. By the way, third-party apps like Cache Clear and CC Cleaner are also available on Google Play. We would suggest you give one of these a chance.

6. Create more storage
We also use our Android handset as a storage device. Due to this, more and more photos and music files are stored on it. Due to this, sometimes the storage gets reduced and the performance is affected. If you are facing shortage of storage in your phone then get rid of unnecessary photos and files.

The good thing is that removing useless apps from the mobile also benefits the storage. To know more about this, go to the storage section inside Settings. Here you will know about photos, videos, audios and storage used by each app. Here you decide at your discretion which things can be removed from the phone.

You can sync your gallery with Google Photos to reduce photo pressure on storage. With Google Photos you get a great option. Google Photos will automatically delete photos and videos from your phone after storing them. You can also reduce the phone’s storage by choosing this option.

Many times it happens that you have ever downloaded a file. It is still lying in the same folder. You can go to the download folder and delete unnecessary files from the phone.

7. Update Apps
You should keep updating the app regularly. You can update your app by visiting Google Play. Generally, you get a notification whenever an update of any app is available in the handset. Developers actually keep releasing new updates of apps by removing old shortcomings. It is possible that due to any deficiency in them, the performance of the phone is getting spoiled.

8. Reduce pressure on RAM
The most important reason for using the phone is multi-tasking. Now as a matter of habit, the user does not want to open every app again and again. He likes to switch between one and the other in one fell swoop. But this will also affect performance. In such a situation, you should continuously close those apps which you are not using. For this you have to tap hard on the square shape on the home screen. Then you will see the app slider. After this, you will have to close the tile visible for each app by swapping it to the left. As these apps close, the pressure on RAM will also reduce. You can also use apps like Clean Master and Memory Booster to further improve the status of RAM.

9. Restart the phone
This is the easiest way. Whenever the phone becomes slow or starts overheating, turn off the phone and turn it on. Doing this sometimes clears the cache. Unnecessary tasks stop and above all the speed of the phone improves. For this, press the power button hard and keep following the instructions that follow.

10. Factory reset
When all else fails, the only option left is to restore your phone to factory settings. That means your handset will have to be factory reset. Keep in mind that once you do a factory reset, all the data from your phone will disappear. Therefore, before doing this, make a backup. Now tap on Backup & reset inside Settings to perform a factory reset. Then on factory data reset. After this, keep following the given instructions. This process will take about half an hour.

Even after trying all these solutions, if your phone is running slow then you should go to the customer service center of the mobile company. And yes, remember one thing that new is new and old is old.
