Maruti Suzuki Registers Sales of More than 1.97 Lakhs Units, Baleno, Swift Getting Strong Demand
In the compact segment, Maruti Suzuki has Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR. The company’s sales in this segment stood at 71,627 units. It has sold more than 61,000 units in the utility segment. In this segment, the company’s Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross and XL6 are getting good response from the customers. From April last year to February this year, the company’s best-selling cars included Baleno, Swift and WagonR. Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a new version of Swift.
Bharat NCAP crash test of three cars of the company will be done. Bharat NCAP will be an important step in improving road safety in the country. Under this, safety standards have been increased for motor vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. This will make it easier for car buyers to assess the crash safety of motor vehicles available in the automobile market. Under Bharat NCAP, car makers can voluntarily get their cars tested.
However, Maruti Suzuki has not told when these cars will be tested. The company’s Baleno and Brezza have previously been tested through Global NCAP and had mixed results. Maruti’s Grand Vitara received a four-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test about six years ago. Star rating will be given based on the performance of the car in this crash test. Before buying a car, customers will be able to compare the safety standards of different vehicles by looking at these star ratings. India is the fifth country in the world to launch such a system for car crash testing. The demand for safer cars is expected to increase after the implementation of new safety regulations. This will also encourage car makers to test their models under Bharat NCAP for manufacturing safe cars.
