HMD Ditches Arrow Name for First Smartphone in India New Moniker Announce Soon Here’s Reason

Nokia’s licensee company HMD is going to launch its first smartphone in India soon. The company had recently revealed its name to be ‘Arrow’, but now, HMD has announced its decision to drop the name. HMD said through its latest social media post that the Arrow name chosen by the company for its first smartphone in India is being dropped due to some legal reasons. In such a situation, the company will now present the upcoming smartphone with some other name instead of Arrow. However, the name has not been announced yet. It is believed that HMD’s first upcoming smartphone in India will be HMD Pulse launched in the global market.

Through a social media post on Sunday, HMD said that due to legal hurdles, the company is changing the name ‘Arrow’ decided for its first smartphone in India. In the month of May, the company ran a campaign in which people were asked to choose a name for HMD’s first phone coming to India. Five people were also to be given rewards in this campaign. However, it has now been confirmed that the upcoming HMD smartphone will not be named Arrow.

In its post, HMD wrote, “Thank you for your amazing response to our #HMDNameourFirstSmartphone contest! Although for legal reasons we can’t use the name “Arrow”, all five winners will receive their prizes after launch.

HMD says that the new name of its first smartphone in India will be revealed in a few days. However, the renaming process may delay the launch of the phone in the country.

It is being said about this phone of HMD that this phone will be a rebadge of HMD Pulse. In such a situation, we expect its specifications to be similar to Pulse. This could be an entry level smartphone. It can get a 6.65 inch IPS display panel, which will have a 90Hz refresh rate. A notch with punch hole design can be seen on the screen. microSD card slot will also be provided in the phone. The phone may have Unisoc T606 chipset for processing.

The phone was launched in the global market in a base configuration with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Apart from this, another variant of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage can also be offered. A single 13-megapixel rear camera can be found in it. Pulse has a 5000mAh battery, with which a 10W charger is available. Apart from this, 3.5mm headphone jack is also provided in the device.
