NASA Juno Spacecraft Captures Lightning On Jupiter Pic goes Viral

Jupiter is placed at the top among all the planets. Its size is so big that even all the planets combined cannot be equal to it alone. Jupiter is full of mysteries and is also very beautiful. But NASA’s Juno spacecraft has seen lightning on its North Pole! NASA’s Juno mission has been launched to discover Jupiter. The space agency has now shared a photo taken by the orbiter which is very mysterious. Let us know about it.

NASA’s Juno Mission is continuously trying to gather information about Jupiter. The space agency has now shared a photo taken on December 20, 2020, which is becoming increasingly viral. In this, lightning is seen on Jupiter. So what does this mean? Are clouds raining on Jupiter? Juno spacecraft did this Photo Taken during the 31st flyby of Jupiter. NASA’s according toScientist Kevin M Gill has extracted this image from raw data. This was taken by JunoCam. At the time of taking the photo, Juno spacecraft was flying at an altitude of 32 thousand kilometers.

Regarding this photo of flashing lightning, NASA says that just as lightning is seen on Earth, it can also be seen on Jupiter. On Earth it is visible due to water-filled clouds and occurs mostly at the equator. But this is not the case on Jupiter. Ammonia clouds are present here. Here also lightning occurs but it happens at the poles. This data shows that Earth can have lightning similar to Jupiter, but the structure of the two planets does not match anywhere.

Jupiter is mainly composed of hydrogen and helium gases. The stripes visible on it and some storms moving on it make it a colorful planet which looks very beautiful. Its diameter is said to be 1,43000 kilometers. It is the fifth planet from the Sun which is present in the solar system. Juno mission has been exploring it since 2016.
