ISRO Preparing to Launch Moon Mission Chandrayan-3 in July

The third edition of the country’s Moon mission can be launched in July. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has given this information. Its three objectives are safe landing on the lunar surface, demonstration of rotation of the spacecraft on the Moon and conducting scientific experiments. This mission will be launched using LVM3 rocket from SDSC SHAR Center in Sriharikota.

Chandrayaan 3 is to be launched after Chandrayaan 2 to demonstrate the capability of safe landing and movement on the lunar surface. ISRO Chairman, S Somnath said that Chandrayaan 3 will be launched in July. ISRO has successfully launched NVS-01 of the second generation satellite series into geosynchronous orbit. The Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle launched NVS-01 on Monday from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDC SHAR) in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

Somnath said, “The lesson is very simple. Learn from the last time and do it to the best of your ability. Failures can happen. There are a thousand reasons for a rocket to fail. This mission too could have failed but We have to do what needs to be done.” Chandrayaan 3 mission includes a lander module, propulsion module and a rover developed in the country. Earlier this year, ISRO and global software company Microsoft had signed an agreement to increase the growth of space technology startups. Under this, these startups will be strengthened through technology, market-related help and mentoring.

Microsoft had said that this partnership will help in ISRO’s plan to promote emerging space technology innovators and entrepreneurs in the country. With this, these startups will get free access to technology related tools and resources to run their business. ISRO said that the partnership with Microsoft will help space technology startups in analyzing and processing satellite data and they will be able to use resources like artificial intelligence and machine learning. Apart from access to technology, Microsoft will also provide help to these startups from space engineering to cloud technologies, product and design, fund raising and marketing.
