Report, Indian government again took action on Chinese apps, 47 apps banned

Last month, the Indian government had banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok in India. The reason given was that the banned apps share data of Indian users with China. However, even after banning 59 apps, the matter has not stopped. According to reports, now the Indian government has once again banned 47 Chinese apps in India. It is being told in media reports that these apps were clones of earlier banned apps, hence now the government has taken action against these apps also. At present, the names of these 47 apps have not been revealed and no official statement has been issued by the Government of India in this regard. It is expected that soon the government can issue a notification in this regard and make the information public.

It is noteworthy that at the end of June last month, apart from TikTok, the Indian government had banned 58 Chinese apps in India, which include ShareIt, UC Browser, Shein, Club Factory, Clash of Kings, Helo, Mi Community, CamScanner, ES. The government claimed that all these apps were involved in such activities, which could pose a threat to the sovereignty and integrity of the country, security of the country, state security and public order etc. Due to data security and user privacy, the government had banned 59 apps, while now it is believed that other banned apps will also be announced by the end of July.
