This means that if their direction changes and their focus turns towards the Earth, they can cause major devastation on our planet. An asteroid coming close to the Earth, known as (2023 KS), is the most worrying. When it will be close to the Earth, the distance between the two will be 2.35 lakh kilometers.

A distance of a few lakh kilometers is considered minor in space. Scientists consider those asteroids, which pass at a distance of 8 million kilometers or less from the Earth, as ‘potentially dangerous’. These asteroids are monitored with the help of telescopes. Every asteroid is given a name, which starts with a number.
