Facility to delete account available in Aarogya Setu App

Aarogya Setu app has received a new update, with which many new changes have been introduced in this app. The most prominent of these changes is the facility to share Arogya Setu health status with third party apps. Apart from this, with this update, users will not only be able to permanently delete their Arogya Setu account, but will also be able to delete all their data present on the app. The app’s development team also announced that it has added the ability to use Bluetooth connectivity to access risk levels associated with COVID-19. The new changes will be available on both Android and iOS devices.

The most prominent and new change available on Aarogya Setu App is the sharing of Aarogya Setu health status with third party apps. You will get this new option by going to Settings, where you have to click on Approval for Aarogya Setu Status. This will allow other health apps to access the health data of your Arogya Setu app. Initially this feature is limited to iOS devices only.

The second biggest change that has come through this update is the facility to permanently delete your account from the Arogya Setu app. Yes, with the help of this feature you will not only be able to delete your account, but before that you will also be able to delete your existing data available on the account. However, this new feature is currently available only for Android users, but on iOS you will find it available in the name of delete_account_title.

It is also important to mention here that through this new feature of deleting account and data, you can delete your data, but this data remains available on the government server. According to the information available on Arogya Setu Android version, it takes 30 days for this data to be deleted from the government server.

Apart from this, you will need to provide your mobile number to delete the account.

Along with all this, such features have also been included in the app, in which you use your Bluetooth proximity to find out your corona virus risk level. One of the tweets posted on Sunday series Arogya Setu team had told that this feature provides you information about the date, time, location and duration of such contact.
