Asteroid 2023 JL1 will come towards earth today with a speed of 26331 KM says Nasa

American space agency NASA has warned about an asteroid. It has been told that a rocky ‘disaster’ the size of a bus is going to pass close to our Earth today. The asteroid named ‘2023 JL1’ could be 39 feet wide. When it will be close to our Earth, the distance between the two will be 24 lakh 90 thousand kilometers. This distance sounds like a lot, but it is nothing compared to the vastness of space. If this asteroid, which is running at a speed of 26 thousand 331 kilometers per hour, changes its direction and starts coming towards the Earth, it can cause great devastation.

Here it becomes necessary to mention an incident of 15 February 2013, when an asteroid approximately 59 feet wide collided with the Earth. Due to the asteroid that crashed on Chelyabinsk city of Russia, 8000 buildings were damaged and one thousand people were injured.

NASA’s data It shows that there is no direct threat to the Earth due to ‘2023 JL1’, but due to the closeness with which it is going to pass, it has been included in the category of ‘potentially dangerous’ for the Earth. Scientists will continue to monitor this asteroid until it moves away from the Earth. NASA has said that ‘2023 JL1’ belongs to the Apollo Group of asteroids.

Asteroids are also called minor planets. According to NASA, just as all the planets of our solar system revolve around the Sun, in the same way asteroids also revolve around the Sun. When our solar system was formed about 4.6 billion years ago, the rocky remains left behind are asteroids. Asteroids are generally found in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Their size can range from 10 meters to 530 kilometers. The total mass of all the asteroids discovered so far is less than that of the Earth’s Moon.
