ESA Aeolus satellite weight 1360 kg will crash on earth in coming months

running out of fuel
Aeolus The fuel is gradually running out. This spacecraft is revolving around our planet at an altitude of about 320 kilometers from the Earth. Due to its proximity to the Earth, it has to spend more fuel to remain in its orbit. Apart from this, flares and plasma from the Sun have also forced the planet to consume more fuel. According to the European Space Agency, it is like walking against the wind.
The mission has closed
Aeolus ceased operations on April 30. All the instruments of the spacecraft have been kept in special mode, so that the last minute activities can be done properly.
Now what next?
This spacecraft will be brought down in the coming days. Its height will be increased from 320 to 150 kilometers. After that the spacecraft will start falling towards the Earth. As of now, the estimate is that this satellite will burn as soon as it enters the Earth’s atmosphere.
How big is the threat to the Earth?
The European Space Agency has said that when Aeolus re-enters the Earth, the possibility of any damage is very less. Usually, when such spacecraft fall on Earth, they break into many pieces and end up in sea areas. However, the administration alerts people in the area where the spacecraft falls.
