UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi Becomes 1st Arab Astronaut To Complete Spacewalk of 7 hours more details
Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) has informed that Sultan Al Neyadi spent 7 hours outside the International Space Station. of ANI Report Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, said that after three years of intensive training, today Sultan Al Nayadi is seen doing a spacewalk outside the International Space Station. The ruler of Dubai said that this is a proud moment for the country.
This was the first time for an Arab astronaut to perform extravehicular activity (EVA) for more than 7 hours in space. During the activity, Sultan also repaired a part of the Radio Frequency Group Unit device along with NASA crew member Stephen Bowen. He also did solar array installation. After this incident, UAE has become the 10th country which has made its citizen do a space walk in space.
Before doing the space walk, Alneyadi had also given information by tweeting about what he was going to do during this mission. He had said that he has taken a long training for this and now he is ready to take up the challenge and set a new milestone. Alenayadi and Bowen faced two difficulties during the spacewalk. There was a lot of radiation there and the temperature was also very high. In space sunlight this temperature reaches 120 degrees Celsius. Whereas when sunlight goes away it falls to -150 degrees Celsius.
