NDTV’s Report According to, an inspector of Noida’s Cyber Police Station says that this matter happened on November 13, when Seeja TA, living in Dhawalgiri Apartment of Sector 34, received a phone call. The caller identified himself as an official of Telephone Regulatory of India (TRAI) and said that a SIM card had been purchased using Cija’s Aadhaar card, which has been used for money laundering. Rs 2 crore have been withdrawn through this SIM.
Inspector further said that Sija TA got nervous after listening to the caller and the scammer transferred the call to Skype citing investigation. The cyber thug, who became an investigating officer, threatened the female engineer by pretending to be an officer of Crime Branch and Customs on Skype call and kept her hostage by digitally monitoring her for 8 hours. After this, cyber thugs transferred Rs 11 lakh 11000 from the account of the female engineer.
The surprising thing about this shocking cyber fraud incident is that on Skype, the police station was being shown to the female engineer in the background and the police was also visible. The woman also told that during digital arrest, someone was asked to remain connected to the app downloaded on her mobile phone, during which she was threatened and extorted money.
Cyber police station in-charge Rita Yadav said that after the fraud, Sija TA complained about this matter. A case has been registered in the matter and its investigation has been started.
