Hyundai Exter SUV Gets More than 1 Lakh Bookings, Price, Features, Variants

Hyundai Exter competes with Tata Motors’ Punch, Nissan’s Magnite, Renault’s Kiger and Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx. Some features of this micro SUV have been given for the first time in this segment. It gets six airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, parking sensors, central locking, emergency stop signal and high-speed alert as standard. Last month, Hyundai had increased the prices of four out of six variants of Exter by up to Rs 16,000. It was launched at a starting price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
Its top end variant SX (O Connect) has received the lowest increase of around Rs 5,000. It has dual-tone and automatic gear box. The company has increased the price of its SX(O) Connect variant the most by Rs 16,000. It has manual transmission with dual-tone. Its other variants have become costlier by around Rs 10,400. The price of the top-end variant of Exter has increased to around Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom). However, there is no change in the prices of its entry level EX and SX(O) Connect variants.
Exter has a 1.2 liter petrol engine which generates power of 83 PS and torque of 11.6 Newton meters. It also has the option of 1.2 liter bi-fuel petrol and CNG engine, which can generate 69 PS power and 95.2 Newton meter torque. It is available in both manual and automatic variants. Its design is based on Hyundai’s new design system, which has a split headlamp setup with H-shaped LED DRL. There is a turn indicator at the top and a headlamp cluster at the bottom. Exter can give a mileage of up to 19.4 kmpl with manual transmission, 19.2 kmpl with automatic transmission and 27.1 kmpl in CNG.
