Sales increased due to discounts and finance options
E-commerce platforms including companies selling smartphones in India are also giving customers the option to buy phones in a flexible manner. This includes big discounts, flexible financing, extended warranty, cashback offers etc., giving customers many options to buy the phone. IDC According to Upasana Joshi, Senior Research Manager in Asia Pacific, market growth has also increased due to the launch of new 5G smartphones. Leading smartphone makers like Apple and Samsung are making their flagship models available with good discounts during online sales.
5G dominance
There is a good demand for 5G smartphones in India. About 38 lakh 5G smartphones have been sold in the third quarter of the year. The contribution of 5G devices in total smartphone shipments has reached 83%. From this it can be estimated that 5G devices are being purchased in large quantities by smartphone users. The average selling price of 5G phones has come down by 20% on year on year basis.
Apple broke records
Apple has sold the highest number of phones in India in the third quarter of 2024. According to the report, the company sold 40 lakh smartphones in 2024 Q3.
