How to lock your Facebook profile

Do you want more privacy for your Facebook account? If yes, you can keep your Facebook account more private by locking your profile. By locking your profile, people who are not in your Facebook friend list will only see a limited part of the profile. Photos and posts on the locked profile timeline, profile picture and cover photo, stories and new posts will only be visible to people who are in the friend list. Also, your ‘public’ posts will no longer be public and will only be visible to friends.

If you want to lock your Facebook profile, you can do it from the mobile app or your browser. While it should be noted that the desktop version of Facebook does not have the option to lock your profile, there is a workaround for that. Also, the feature is limited to the Android app. Check out the steps below on how you can lock your Facebook profile-

Lock Facebook profile via mobile app

Open the Facebook app and tap your profile.
Add to Story Tap the three-dot menu icon next to .
Here, you will find a Profile Lock If you get the option, tap on it.
The next page will give you a brief overview of what this Lock Your Profile Tap on how it works option.
You should see a pop-up that says You Locked Your Profile, here OK Tap on .

Lock Facebook profile via desktop

While there’s no direct way to lock your app from the browser, there is a workaround you can use if you don’t have a mobile app to do so:
Go to.
Click on your profile icon and in the URL, replace ‘www’ with ‘m’ so that the URL is now m.facebook.com/yourprofilename.
This will take you to the mobile version of Facebook on your desktop browser and you will see a three dot menu next to the Edit Profile option.
In the three dot menu, you will see Profile Lock The option will appear, click on it.
Just like the Android version, this next page will show you how locking works, including at the bottom Lock Your Profile There is an option. Click on it.
Your profile is now locked.
iOS users can use a desktop workaround to lock their profiles. Or they can follow the steps to lock their profiles by arranging an Android device.
If you want to unlock your Facebook profile, the steps are the same on both the mobile app and desktop. Profile Lock In place of the option, now you will see a unlock profile The option will appear, tap on it and press Unlock on the next screen. You will see a brief information on how to unlock your profile and at the bottom you will see the option to unlock your profile, click on it and your profile will be unlocked.
