The fare shown in the app regarding payment will be only one reference amount and it will not be a fixed amount. Rider and drivers can decide ride rent by mutual consent. Uber claims that it does not manage digital payment for auto rides nor does it track or process any payment. Riders will have to pay the driver directly, whether it is in cash or in any other mode, which both agree.

The report suggests that Uber will not support digital payments under this new model, but if the rider and driver want to use UPI or other digital mode by mutual consent, they can do so. In addition, the rider will have to pay additional costs like toll, parking fee, root surcharge and state tax during the trip.

The company also clarified that fee would be different from the fare of the ride fee such as Uber One membership fees, airport access fees, insurance costs, administrators or service charges. In addition, any payment given for the ride will be non-refundable, even if the ride has not been completed.
