Tesla Finally Enter Indian Market with Mumbai Showroom, Know Pries of Its Electric Car In Country

The American Electric Vehicle (EV) Maker Tesla’s first showroom in the country has started in Mumbai on Tuesday. Tesla seems likely to be a possibility of the world’s third largest automobile market in India. The company’s showroom is in Maker Maxity Mall in BKC, Mumbai.

According to Tesla’s website, this electric crossover compact SUV will be brought into two variants-rear-wheel drive and long range rear-wheel drive. The range of its rear-wheel drive variant is about 500 kilometers in single charge. It can hold a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The range of model Y’s long range rear-wheel drive is more than 620 kilometers. It can reach a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The price of the rear-wheel drive variant of this electric crossover SUV is about Rs 60.1 lakh and the long-range variant is worth about Rs 67.8 lakh. Tesla seems likely to be a possibility of the world’s third largest automobile market in India. However, the company’s EV’s more prices can cause obstruction in its sales.

In India last month, EV sales have increased by about 28.60 percent to 1,80,238 units on a year-by-year basis. In June, the cells of the electric passenger vehicle are 13,178 units. Due to high import duty in India, the price of this EV of Tesla is much higher than other countries. The company’s second showroom in the country can be started in the capital Delhi by the end of this month. Due to importing electric cars in the country, the company will have to pay import duty and other tax of about 70 percent. Musk also expressed displeasure over more import duty on imported vehicles in the country.

Tesla’s sales in major markets like the US and China are declining. The company is getting a tough fight with China’s byd and other EV makers. Byd is already selling its EV in India. Tesla has imported model Y in India from its manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China.
