Aadhaar Card Update: How to change name, mobile number and email ID online

There are three types of facilities mentioned on the Aadhaar website to update this information. If you want, you can update the Aadhaar card online. Aadhaar card can also be updated by post and by visiting the enrollment center. The website created for online Aadhaar update is known as Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal. For your convenience, we will tell you about updating the Aadhaar card information online.
Let us make it clear that to update the Aadhaar card online, you must have the mobile number which was registered with your Aadhaar number. Because during the update process, OTP will be sent to the mobile number. If you do not have that mobile number, then go to the Aadhaar enrollment center and get it updated. Only after this you will be able to update your Aadhaar card online. Let us make it clear that Indian citizens can update only their name, address, gender, date of birth, mobile number and email address online. For any other change, you will have to go to the Aadhaar enrollment / update center.

1. First of all go to the Self Service Update Portal.
2. Write your Aadhaar number here.
3. After this you will get one time password on the registered mobile number.
4. After this, enter the OTP and go to the update portal.
Aadhaar Data Update Request
1. After this you select the option which you want to update/correct.
2. The good thing is that you will be able to update all the options. Hopefully such a situation will not arise.
3. After selecting the option, the Aadhaar update form will appear in front of you. Here you can change the information as per your requirement. Here the name and address information will be updated in Hindi along with English.
4. Double-check the new information you have provided. Because you would not want to return to this website again. Once the verification is complete, click on Submit Update Request.
Aadhaar update document upload
1. Now you will have to submit the documents related to the change for which you have applied. Please note that no documents will be required to change the email ID, mobile number and gender. But for changes in name, date of birth and address, you will have to submit the related documents.
2. For name change, you will have to provide proof of identity. These documents are valid for identity proof- Passport, PAN card, Ration/PDS photo card, Voter ID and Driving License. Please note that its list is longer. Click here to know about all the valid documents.
3. To change the date of birth you will have to provide a photo copy of birth certificate, secondary board passing certificate or passport.
4. For change of address, you will have to provide proof of address. These documents are valid- passport, bank statement, bank passbook, post office account passbook, ration card and voter card. Its list is also very long. Know more about it by clicking here.
5. Keep two-three things in mind while uploading the documents. You have to upload a self-attested photocopy of the document to be given as proof. And do not use the same document for two changes. It would be better to give different documents for this.
Select your BPO service provider
1. After uploading the required documents, choose the appropriate option from the BPO service providers.
2. Now submit the request
3. After this you will get the update request number. Write it down safely somewhere. If you want, you can download or print the acknowledgement copy of the update request.
Let us tell you that it is clearly written on the UIDAI website that just by applying for update in Aadhaar data, the information will not be updated. It will be updated only after verifying the new information given by you.
