For which the tech giant is focusing on Google Wallet. It has been said that the app services will continue in Singapore and India for now.

Google Wallet is becoming more popular among users than Google Pay and its user base is five times more than Google Pay in 180 countries.

However, the GPay payment app will continue to run in India and Singapore. At the same time, the company is saying that some of its services will continue even after the app is shut down in the US. Users will be able to use some of its important functions like payment management, in-store payments but this will be possible only through Google Wallet. Peer to peer (P2P) payments, managing balance directly in the app, and receiving offers and deals will not be possible on the app.

Google Wallet is now going to be the main focus of the company. Google Wallet will be the primary app for secure payments of digital items like store payments, tap and pay, transit cards, driver license, state ID etc.

What will happen to the balance in Google Pay?
Users who have a balance in Google Pay will have the option to transfer their funds to their bank account. This can be done through the Google Pay website even after June 4, 2024. The company launched Google Wallet in 2011. After that, many changes were made to it. Android Pay came in 2015, after which it was merged with Google Pay in 2018. Now Google Wallet is becoming more popular. Apart from payment, it is being used in many other functions, which include transport pass, state ID, driver license, virtual car key.
