Google Gemini App on Android Rolling Out Toggle on iOS Available in India Heres All Details

Google has started rolling out its Gemini app on Android for users in India. While there is no dedicated app on iOS, iPhone users will see a toggle at the top of the Google app that will allow them to activate the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot. The tech giant launched the Android app on February 8, but the rollout was limited to the US. Now, the app is being rolled out in over 150 countries and regions.

According to Google’s support page, the Gemini mobile app is now available in English, Korean, and Japanese and is being released in more than 150 countries and regions. The full list of countries can be found on Google’s Support Page Available on. iPhone users do not have a dedicated app at the moment, but they can use Gemini’s AI capabilities through the Google app. For this, they will see a toggle button on the top-right of the app, which is designed to access the chatbot. Gadgets 360 was able to confirm the availability of the Gemini toggle on the Google app on iOS 17.2.1.

The Gemini app requires a smartphone with at least 4GB of RAM. It should have Android 12 or a newer version of Google’s operating system. Similarly, the Gemini toggle is available for iPhones running iOS 16 and newer. Because the AI service is only available in English, Japanese, and Korean, it will only be available on smartphones set to use these languages.

To use it, users will first need to sign in to a personal Google account or a Workspace account. If you still don’t see the app or toggle, note that the global rollout began on Thursday and it may take a few days to reach all devices.

Jack Krawczyk, senior director of product at Google, who also handles Gemini, revealed in a post on X that restrictions on image uploading and image generation in the Gemini app are being relaxed somewhat. However, he added, “We will continue to act responsibly on denials with both images and text.”

Some users who have added Gemini as the default assistant instead of Google Assistant on Android smartphones have complained that there was no clarity on what in-device features the AI is capable of performing. Krawczyk said in a statement on Wednesday. Post “We’re working on making it more clear which Assistant features are in the works and which are already available,” I said.
