Take special care of these things regarding the security of Aadhaar card
UID or Aadhar card was first introduced for direct benefit schemes like MNREGA, domestic LPG cylinders. Since July 2014, this biometric based system is being made mandatory for every other scheme. It is now being used for services like passport, voter ID, ration card. In such a situation, it is necessary for every person to have an Aadhar card.
On the other hand, recently there were reports in the media about breach of Aadhaar data, misuse of biometrics data and breach of personal information. However, UIDAI has said that it has looked into these reports carefully and wants to emphasize that there has been no breach in Aadhaar’s UIDAI database and people’s personal data with UIDAI is absolutely safe. It is good that the government has clarified the situation immediately after the news came and assured the common citizens. But what about the future? Now when a system like Aadhaar payments is going to become common, during that time antisocial elements will keep an eye on our biometrics data. In such a situation, you too will have to take special care of some things.
Lock Aadhaar biometric data online
There have been many cases where people have alleged misuse of Aadhaar biometric authentication. There are many people who have not used their Aadhaar card for many days, but they have received an email from UIDAI that their data has been accessed through biometric authentication. You can avoid this situation if you go to the UIDAI server and lock the biometric information. You can also unlock it before using it. You have to do this.

Avoid giving photo copy of Aadhaar
If you are not completely sure, then avoid giving the photocopy of the Aadhar card to anyone. It is possible that it may be used for some wrong purpose. It would be better if you sign the photocopy and also write for what purpose the photocopy has been given.
Using biometrics data wisely
It is possible that while buying a Reliance Jio SIM, you might have shared your thumbprint with a scanner. In the coming times, similar fingerprint scans will be available in Aadhaar card based systems at other places. If you are not completely sure about any scanner, then our suggestion would be that you do not give your thumbprint.
If you lose your Aadhaar card
First of all, go to the nearest police station and register an FIR. Please note that Aadhaar card is made only once. Even if it is lost, you will not need to apply again. You can get a new Aadhaar card by visiting the UIDAI website. Or you can go to any Aadhaar center and get a new duplicate card made.
