PhonePe Indus Appstore Set to Launch in India on February 21 to compete play store

PhonePe is preparing to open its own mobile app store in India very soon. It will be named Indus Appstore. It will be an Android-based marketplace and will be available to consumers by the end of this month. Apart from English, apps will be listed in 12 Indian languages ​​on this app store. Many apps like Flipkart, Ixigo, Domino’s Pizza, Snapdeal, JioMart and Bajaj Finserv have already joined it. PhonePe’s entry into the app store business will challenge Google, because Android users currently use Google Play Store more to download apps.

This includes Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi and Tamil etc. Many well-known brands have already joined the app. Indus App Store have listed themselves in. The company is also preparing to add A23 Rummy, Gameskraft, Dream11, Rummy Passion and Nazara Technologies. About 4 months ago, PhonePe opened its app marketplace for Android developers. PhonePe’s next goal is to challenge the monopoly of Google Play Store. Currently, Google has 95 percent market share in this sector and Apple’s App Story’s share is also negligible.

Indus Appstore promised to charge zero commission for in-app purchases, while Google and Apple’s app stores charge between 15% and 25% commission for the same work. PhonePe is backed by Walmart. The company was earlier a part of Flipkart.
