Telegram has rolled out new updates, introducing several new features to improve user experience on its platform. The new features include improvements to saved messages, one-time voice and video messages, detailed read receipts, and more. Saved Messages 2.0
Telegram’s saved messages, which were previously used for notes and forwarded messages, have now been upgraded. They now act as a storage system for links, media, and bookmarks. Users can manage saved messages from chats, use tags to better categorize them, and access them through a new ‘Saved’ tab in shared media.

View saved messages by chat
A new ‘View as Chat’ mode allows users to see a list of private chats, groups and channels from which messages have been forwarded. The feature provides easy access and users can pin favourite chats to the top.

Tags for saved messages
A variety of emoji-based tags can be added to saved messages to improve organization. Premium users can use tags, making it easier to filter and search for specific messages.

Save message in shared media
Chats, groups, and channels now have a ‘Saved’ tab in the Shared Media section, making it easier to access saved or forwarded messages from a specific chat.

Upgrade Search
Search functionality has been improved across all chats, making it easier to navigate search results and view them as a contact list.

One time voice and video messages
There’s now a view-once setting available for voice and video messages, allowing them to be played just once before automatically playing.

pause and resume recording
Users can now pause and resume recording of voice or video messages, eliminating the need to send multiple messages.

read time in private chat
In 1-on-1 chats, users can now see the time when their messages were opened. Read times have privacy settings based on last seen status and are visible for 7 days before being deleted.

One-way last seen and read times
Telegram Premium users can hide their last seen and read times while others can see them. This feature is customizable and offers more privacy control.

Private message permission
Premium users can choose who can send them messages by selecting from ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’ and ‘Premium Users’. This feature restricts chats from users who are not in the contact list or are not Premium members, unless the Premium user initiates the chat.

Faster loading times and higher quality stories
Video stories now load 4x faster and premium users can watch them in high quality. All users can control playback speed in video stories.

New design for shared contacts
Messages with shared contacts now look better, reflecting the color and emoji icons selected in Settings.

Improved video messaging on iOS
Video message recording on iOS has been improved for clearer quality, quicker camera switching, and less camera shake.

App icons on macOS
Telegram for macOS now allows users to choose from 15 icons to customize the appearance of their app in the Dock. This can be done in Settings > Appearance > App Icons.
