The last major change in WhatsApp was seen in the form of the status tab. The company replaced the old text message with a new status tab in which users could set videos, photos and GIF images as their status. But many users around the world demanded to bring back the old text status, and after a few days the company had to bring back the text status. There are many features like audio calls, video calls which have made the WhatsApp experience better than ever.
The company is constantly trying to provide new features. And as part of this effort, many new features are being tested on WhatsApp beta version. Recently, it was revealed that WhatsApp will be coming with the bill payment feature. Apart from this, WhatsApp has also been testing the message revoke feature for several months. Know about those features which were recently seen on the beta app and in the coming time, they are expected to be released for common WhatsApp users as well.
Pay Bills with WhatsApp!
Instant messaging app WhatsApp is planning to enter the digital payment service in India. This will be the first such service of Facebook-owned company WhatsApp worldwide. The company has advertised for the post of digital transaction head in the country.
A recent report said that the job advertisement on WhatsApp’s website said that the company is looking for a candidate with a technical and financial background who has an understanding of India’s Unified Payment Interface (UPI) and Bhim Payments App. Money transactions are done using mobile numbers through these payment services. The company needs its digital transaction lead for India.
Message Revoke Feature
WhatsApp has been reported to be testing the message revoke feature for the past several months. Earlier, this new feature was seen in the WhatsApp iPhone app, which allows users to edit or delete a message sent to a contact.
It is claimed that a new update has been released on WhatsApp Web and the revoke feature has been found in it. Apart from this, it is claimed that users will now be able to ‘unsend’ the sent message within five minutes. It seems that WhatsApp plans to launch the new revoke feature on all its platforms including WhatsApp Web at once.
whatsapp change number
WhatsApp is testing a feature that will make changing the contact number less troublesome for users than before. WhatsApp is linked to your phone number, so even thinking about changing the number bothers many users. After changing the number, you usually inform all your contacts about it through a broadcast, or inform your friends about the new number by pinging at the time of need. WhatsApp is trying to make this process easier. For this, a feature is being tested that will inform your friends and family about the change in number. Apart from this, the live location sharing feature recently introduced by Facebook and Google will also get a place in WhatsApp.
In this feature, you will have three options to choose from – share the new number with all contacts, or with the numbers you chat with, or if you want, you can also not share the new number with any contact. This feature will automatically send notifications to all groups, no matter which option you have chosen. Apart from this, the ‘Change Number’ feature will already be turned off, you will have to activate it while changing the number.
Pin to top chat
WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to keep their favorite chats on top. Currently, this feature is being tested on Android, but there are indications that in the coming time this feature is ready to be released for general users as well.
According to a recent report, long press the group or individual chat that you want to keep at the top and then select the pin icon visible in the top bar. Other options along with pin are delete, mute and archive. Once the chat is pinned, it will appear at the top of your chat list. No matter how many groups or users you have conversations with, they will appear only after the pinned chat. WhatsApp has allowed users to pin a maximum of three chats. After this, you will get a notification that you can pin only three chats. Apart from this, you can also unpin the chat whenever you want.
You will be able to share many contacts simultaneously
WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows sharing multiple contacts at once. Earlier, users could only share one contact at a time, but now this limit has been increased. This feature was seen in the Android beta version and it can be released for all users soon. This feature works the same as before, but now users can send multiple contacts at once instead of one contact via WhatsApp or email.
A recent report claimed that if you are sending contacts to multiple users, you will have to follow the old process of sending contacts. Interestingly, there is no limit on the number of contacts sent to a user and we were able to send more than 100 contacts to a single user at once. This feature works in both group and individual chats. Multiple contacts are displayed to the user in a box which when opened allows the user to select which contact they want to store on their smartphone. This process is quite straightforward as sending multiple contacts at once would fill up the chat feed.
