Apple App Store Top Apps and Games of 2023 WhatsApp to JioCinema BGMI

Apple has revealed year-end charts for the most popular apps and games on the App Store in more than 35 countries and regions. Apple has announced the most downloaded apps and games in India in 2023. WhatsApp has become the most downloaded free app on iPhone, while the DSLR camera app was the top paid iPhone app of the year. Earlier this month, Apple also revealed its 2023 App Store Award Winners.

of 2023 Year End Chart in the App Store’s Today tab, features the top Apple Arcade games as well as the top free and paid apps and games of the year. Instagram and YouTube were the most downloaded free iPhone apps of the year, followed by WhatsApp. Streaming platform JioCinema beat Google, Snapchat and Google Pay to take the fourth spot.

Productivity focused apps including PDF Scanner, Slow Shutter Cam, Forest: Focus for Productivity emerged as the top downloaded paid apps on iPhone. In terms of gaming, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was the most downloaded free game on iPhone. Hitman Sniper, on the other hand, was the most paid game. Ludo King and Subway Surfers also made it to the top 3 free iPhone games, while Minecraft and Real Flight Simulato made it to the top 3 list in terms of payments.

JioCinema was the most downloaded free app in 2023 on iPad, while illustration app Procreate was the top paid app on Apple tablets. BGMI also emerged as the top free game on iPad, while Minecraft is the most downloaded paid game. Apple Arcade, NBA 2K23 Arcade Edition, Asphalt 8: Airborne+ and Angry Birds Reloaded were the 3 most downloaded games of the year.

Earlier this month, hiking and biking app AllTrails was named the Best App of 2023 on iPhone. The App Store Awards also gave titles to apps like digital makeup sketch pad app Pret-a-Makeup and photo editing software Photomator on Apple devices. miHoYo’s new RPG gacha title Honkai: Star Rail was named iPhone Game of the Year, while Souls-like action RPG Lies of Pi emerged as the best game on Mac.
