Both smartphones are equipped with powerful octa-core processors. While Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset has been used in Redmi Note 9 Pro, the company has given MediaTek Helio G90T chipset in Realme 6. However, both chipsets score almost the same marks in benchmark scores. Redmi Note 9 Pro scored 279,978 points in AnTuTu. At the same time, it scored 568 and 1,761 respectively in single-core and multi-core tests in Geekbench. Redmi Note 9 Pro scored 3,665 points in 3DMark’s Slingshot Unlimited test. In comparison, Realme 6 scored 290,210 points in AnTuTu and scored 467 and 1,688 points respectively in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. The Realme 6 scored 3,131 in 3DMark’s Slingshot Unlimited test.

In normal use, we found the performance of both smartphones to be similar and did not notice any problems. Both the Realme 6 and Redmi Note 9 Pro handle multitasking well and the experience of running the Android-based custom skin included on both phones was smooth and lag-free. The 90Hz panel included in the Realme 6 gives a better scrolling experience, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro does not offer this experience due to its standard panel.
Both phones handled heavy 3D mobile games with ease in our testing. We played games with graphics-intensive games like PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends and found that the RAM and powerful processors included in both phones easily handle even heavy games. Although the Realme 6 got a little hotter than the Redmi Note 9 Pro during long gaming, the temperature of both devices still did not go out of control.
Both phones have similarly performing fingerprint sensors, which are fast and accurate with a quick tap on the side. Both phones unlock with just one touch without having to press the power button. Similarly, the face unlock feature on both phones also works similarly, i.e. fast and accurate.

Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6 battery life
The Realme 6 packs a 4,300mAh battery and in comparison, the Redmi Note 9 Pro packs a bigger 5,020mAh battery. In our testing, we found both phones easily lasted about a day and a half on a single charge, which is pretty good. You can expect the Redmi Note 9 Pro to last longer, as it packs a higher capacity battery. Surprisingly, the Realme 6 outperformed the Redmi Note 9 Pro in our HD video battery loop test and lasted about 19.5 hours. The Redmi Note 9 Pro only lasted 16 hours in this test.

Coming to the charging capability, Realme 6 charges faster due to its 30W fast charging support and smaller battery capacity. Whereas, Redmi Note 9 Pro has a bigger battery and supports a maximum of 18W fast charging output, due to which it takes a little longer to charge.
