Facebook Messenger get default end to end encryption fo chat calls meta announced

Meta has a blog Post As mentioned, Messenger has been giving users the option to enable end-to-end encryption since 2016. With the new update, private chats and calls on Meta Messenger are now end-to-end encrypted by default.
Benefits of End-to-End Encryption
The messaging platform already offers several privacy and security features including delivery controls. This allows users to choose who can send them messages as well as an app lock. Apart from this, security features like block and message request are also available. However, a default end-to-end encryption provides an additional layer of security for messages and call content shared with users’ friends and family. These messages and calls are safe from the time they leave the user’s device to the receiver’s device. This means that no one, including Meta, will be able to see what has been sent or said. End-to-end encryption will provide users with more secure chats in Messenger.
Apart from end-to-end encryption, these new features have also been introduced:
Edit a message: This feature will allow users to edit messages within 15 minutes.
Disappearing messages: Disappearing messages on Messenger will now last for 24 hours after being sent. Users will also be notified when a disappearing message occurs.
Read receipt control: Messenger’s new read receipt controls will allow users to decide whether they want others to see their messages when they’ve been read.
Photo and video upgrades: Meta claims that users share more than 1.3 billion photos and videos on the messenger every day. The company is now making it easier to access photos and videos, advancing photo quality, adding attractive layouts and providing more control so that users can reply or reply to any photo or video in storage.
