NASA Will Provide Advanced Training to Indian Astronauts for Joint Mission to ISS

The joint venture between ISRO and NASA plans to launch the state-of-the-art satellite NISAR soon. Along with this, ISRO is considering the possibility of using NASA’s Hypervelocity Impact Test (HVIT) for testing Gaganyaan’s module Micrometeoroid and Orbital Debris Protection Shields. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked ISRO to set a target of building an Indian space station by 2035 and landing astronauts on the Moon by 2040. NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) has been developed at a cost of approximately $1.5 billion.
