Another success of ISRO 17 year old satellite fell safely to earth atmosphere

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has got another success. ISRO has successfully dropped the Cartosat-2 satellite, launched 17 years ago, into the Earth’s atmosphere from space. According to PTI report, the satellite entered the Earth’s atmosphere over the Indian Ocean on February 14 at 3.48 pm Indian time. ISRO says that either the satellite might have burnt or its remaining part might have fallen into the sea. If such satellites fall in populated areas, they can cause damage.

ISRO’s Tell It means that we will not be able to find the part that has fallen into the sea. According to ISRO, the Cartosat-2 satellite was launched on 10 January 2007. Then his weight was 680 kg. That satellite was working in the polar orbit of the Sun at an altitude of 635 kilometers from the Earth.

According to ISRO, if Cartosat-2 had come down on its own, it was expected to take about 30 years. However, ISRO decided to reduce the circumference of Cartosat-2 by using its remaining fuel. After this, Cartosat-2 was successfully dropped into the Earth’s atmosphere.

By doing this, India has set an example for countries like America, China and Russia. Because satellite debris in space remains a major challenge for our current missions. This garbage in the form of satellite keeps floating in space. Most space agencies have left it alone.
