Redmi Note 5 Pro vs Moto G6 vs Oppo Realme 1 Design

Redmi Note 5 Pro It has a metal backplate whereas the Moto G6 comes with a sleek and shiny curved glass back, due to which this phone gets a distinct identity in the crowd. Moto G6 not only looks the most premium among these three handsets, it is also very compact. Due to the curved edges, it is convenient to use it with one hand.
Glassback also has one drawback. Fingerprints fall easily and the Moto G6 also slips in the hands. realme 1 The back panel is made of fiber glass and has a different looking glossy diamond cut effect on the back part. This design is something that not everyone can agree on. The build quality of all three phones is good. But Redmi Note 5 Pro is the most solid.

There are two variants each of Moto G6 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. At the same time, Realme 1 has three variants in different price segments. The 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant of Moto G6 is available for Rs 13,999. By the way, we have tested the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant priced at Rs 15,999.

Three variants of Realme 1 are available in the market – 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant is available for Rs 8,990. The price of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant is Rs 10,990. Whereas, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant can be purchased for Rs 13,990.

Budget

We have used the base variant of Redmi Note 5 Pro which is priced at Rs 14,999. It comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. There is also a variant of the phone with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, which is priced at Rs 16,999. You will be able to use microSD card in all three variants.

The battery of Redmi Note 5 Pro is 4,000 mAh. In Realme 1 you will get 3,410 mAh battery. At the same time, 3000 mAh battery works to bring life to Moto G6. All three smartphones have connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and 3.5mm headphone jack. You can use 4G SIM in both the SIM slots of all three phones, but only one works at 4G speed.

All three smartphones come with tall 18:9 IPS LCD displays that are not completely borderless screens. These have full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution. The 6-inch display of the Realme 1 is good, but not better than the other two. The colors are vibrant. But the viewing angles are disappointing and so is the sunlight legibility.

The panels of Redmi Note 5 Pro and Moto G6 have their own merits and demerits. There is no problem in reading in sunlight on the 5.99 inch screen of Redmi Note 5 Pro. The viewing angles are also excellent, but it looks a bit dull and washed out. In comparison, colors are accurate on the Moto G6’s 5.7-inch panel. But it is not bright enough to use outside.

All three smartphones are very capable for daily tasks. But due to the slightly weak Snapdragon processor, the Moto G6 sometimes gets stuck. It also gets a little hot when used excessively, this problem is not seen in the other two phones.
In terms of gaming, it is not easy to choose one among the three. Although, there was a lag when loading heavy graphics games like Asphalt 8 on the Moto G6, but the gameplay was very smooth on all three phones.

The fingerprint sensor on the Redmi Note 5 Pro was slightly slower than the one on the Moto G6. In Moto phones, you will find a capsule-shaped sensor just below the display, which is very fast and accurate. You will not get a fingerprint scanner in Realme 1. This phone has facial recognition for security.

Front camera is used for facial recognition in all three smartphones. There is one drawback common in all of these. Performance is weak in low light and they are not completely secure. The Moto G6’s face recognition is weak at best. Sometimes it doesn’t even work perfectly.

In Moto G6 you will get almost stock incarnation of Android 8.0 Oreo. There are some traditional gestures of Motorola with this. At the same time, Realme 1 and Redmi Note 5 Pro come with customized skin based on Android. Realme 1 has Oppo’s modified ColorOS 5.0 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The interface is smooth and responds fast. But it’s extremely cluttered and needs simplifying.

Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on MIUI 9.2 based on Android 7.1.2. It is expected to get Oreo update. But it is disappointing not to see Android Oreo in this phone being sold in June 2018.

In normal use, all three phones provided support throughout the day. But at the end of the day the Redmi Note 5 Pro had slightly more battery left than the others. In our HD video loop battery test, the Realme 1 lasted 11 hours 30 minutes. The battery of Redmi Note 5 Pro lasted for 16 hours 36 minutes which is fantastic. At the same time, Moto G6 disappointed. Its battery died in just 8 hours and 40 minutes. But real world performance was satisfactory.

Moto G6 has a 15-watt turbo charger which fully charges the phone’s battery in 1.5 hours. Realme 1 and Redmi Note 5 Pro do not come with quick charger, but Xiaomi’s phone definitely supports quick charging.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro produced average quality photos when there was not enough light. In low light, this phone is successful in capturing photos with decent detail. But the photos seem over-exposed and the colors are not always accurate.

The Moto G6 makes photos sharper at night to reduce noise. The Moto G6 makes the most of light and captures detailed photos. Realme 1 is better than the other two in terms of colors, but lags behind in details.

In adequate light the Redmi Note 5 Pro takes much better photos than the other two. Photos came out sharp and crisp. The phone was successful in capturing most of the details. In comparison, the Moto G6’s camera tends to over-expose photos. Realme 1 produced soft and less detailed images.

The selfie camera of Moto G6 is the best. It takes detailed photos in daylight and night photos are also usable. In comparison, Realme 1 and Redmi Note 5 Pro capture grainy and noisy photos in low light. The videos captured from all three smartphones cannot be praised much. But Redmi Note 5 Pro is slightly ahead in terms of stabilization and detail.

There is no doubt that Redmi Note 5 Pro is the best package among these three. It looks good, the build quality is solid and the performance is praiseworthy. The battery life is also strong, which is why it is the best option for those who are away from the charger.

The Moto G6 is beautiful and compact, but its performance doesn’t match the looks. However, this is the best option for selfie lovers. Users who are looking for the best rear camera should buy Redmi Note 5 Pro only. This phone does lag a bit in low light, but in adequate light it captures photos with maximum detail.

Well, the starting variant of Realme1 is completely value for money. But it is not easy for us to recommend buying its 6 GB RAM variant due to the lack of fingerprint sensor and confusing UI.
