This will be a total solar eclipse and will start over the South Pacific Ocean and pass through Mexico, USA and Canada. Partial solar eclipse will be visible in some countries. These include Costa Rica, Cuba, Aruba, Cayman Islands, Dominica, French Polynesia and Jamaica.

Talking about timing, the solar eclipse that is going to occur on April 8 will start at 3:42 pm (UTC). At that time it will be 9:12 pm in India. The eclipse will end at 4:36 pm (UTC). Then it would be 10:06 pm in India.

Will the solar eclipse of April 8 be visible in India?

The timing of the solar eclipse makes it clear that during the eclipse it will be night time in India, i.e. the sun will have set. India is not included among the countries where the solar eclipse will be visible. Due to absence of solar eclipse in India, Sutak period will also not be effective in our country.
