Xiaomi has launched the “Baby Care Edition” smart camera in China with a price of 769 Yuan (about Rs 9,000) from the company’s official website. online store But it is being sold. It was made available on crowdfunding last month.
Talking about the features, the biggest feature of this smart camera is the AI features present in it. The company claims that the camera can detect the baby’s cry, voice and even cough and then notifies the parents. Users can connect this camera with the Mi Home app, which lets them set up a virtual “play area”. Subsequently, if the child leaves or returns to the designated area, a notification alert is received on the smartphone.
The camera has two operation modes: local and online. In offline mode the monitor can be connected directly to the camera without an internet connection, ensuring that photos never go to the cloud. Online mode provides access to photos or live activities remotely through the Mi Home app.
The monitor that comes with it has a 5-inch sized screen, which displays 720p HD images, while the camera captures the activity in 2880 x 1620 resolution. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) and comes with three storage options – microSD card, NAS transfer, and cloud storage (paid membership). This device comes with 10 hours long battery life. The AI algorithm of the “Baby Care Edition” camera can detect the baby’s smile and record it instantly.
Talking about privacy features, the angle of the camera can only be adjusted manually, which ensures that if the camera is hacked, no one can pan it remotely. Additionally, areas can be set on the Mi Home app where this camera stops recording.
