Nokia brand phones will be launched in India soon. In such a situation, curiosity about this brand is increasing. There is only one question in everyone’s mind whether Nokia will be successful in regaining its dominance. At the Mobile World Congress, HMD Global informed about making Nokia 6 available in the international market, which is currently sold only in China. With this, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3310 were introduced in a new avatar.

Among these handsets, Nokia 6 comes with the best specifications. However, there are already many smartphones available in India which will provide a strong challenge to Nokia 6. We are talking about the price range of Rs 15,000 to 18,000. Keeping this in mind, we are comparing the Nokia 6 (€229, approximately Rs 16,000) with the Vivo V5 (Rs 15,249), Gionee A1 (Rs 17,999) and Moto G5 Plus (starting at Rs 14,999).

The specifications of Vivo V5 (Review), Gionee A1 (Review) and Moto G5 Plus (Review) are in the mid-range segment. But despite being in the same price range, Nokia 6 seems to lag behind in many ways. Let’s compare.

Nokia 6 is expected to be launched in India at a price range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000. Its price in the European market is 229 Euros which is equivalent to around Rs 16,000 in India. Nokia 6 is expected to be launched in India along with Nokia 3 and Nokia 5.

The smartphones we have taken in comparison are already being sold. The Crown Gold variant of Vivo V5 is available for Rs 15,951. Whereas, for the Space Gray variant you will have to spend Rs 18,300. At the same time, Gionee A1 was launched in India for Rs 19,999, but is currently available on Tata Cliq site for Rs 18,180. And even cheaper on select e-commerce.

There are two variants of Moto G5 Plus. The price of the variant with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB storage is Rs 14,999. The variant with 4 GB RAM / 32 GB storage is being sold on Flipkart for Rs 16,999. It is being sold in lunar gray and gold colors.

Talking about the specifications of Nokia 6, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. In comparison, Vivo V5 comes with MediaTek MT6750 processor and Gionee A1 comes with MediaTek P10 MT6755 processor. Whereas, Motorola Moto G5 Plus has Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The Nokia features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920) 2.5D curved glass display. At the same time, Vivo V5 has a screen of the same size with HD resolution. The Gionee A1 also has a 5.5-inch full-HD resolution screen and the Moto G5 Plus has a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution screen.

Vivo V5 and Gionee A1 have 4 GB RAM. In Moto G5 Plus you have the option to choose between 3 GB and 4 GB RAM. Whereas, Nokia 6 has 3 GB RAM. By the way, the Chinese variant and Arte Black variant come with 4 GB RAM. Talking about inbuilt storage, Vivo V5 has 32 GB, Gionee A1 has 64 GB, Moto G5 Plus has 16 GB and 32 GB, and Nokia 6 has 32 GB. Support for microSD card is available in all handsets.

Now let’s talk about the camera. The rear sensor of Nokia 6 is 16 megapixels and the front camera is 8 megapixels. On the other hand, Vivo V5 and Gionee A1 have 13-13 megapixel rear cameras with flash. Moto G5 Plus has a 12-megapixel camera and is equipped with a dual LED flash module. On the front panel, you will get a 20-megapixel moonlight selfie camera in Vivo V5. Gionee A1 has a 16 megapixel sensor. The Nokia 6 has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, compared to just a 5-megapixel front sensor on the Moto G5 Plus.

Talking about the operating system, Nokia 6 will come with Android 7.0 Nougat and soon it will get the update to Android 7.1.1. Vivo V5 will run on Funtouch 2.6 OS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Gionee A1 runs on Amigo 4.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Whereas, Moto G5 Plus has stock Android 7.0 Nougat.
