Moto G5 Plus vs Moto G4 Plus: What’s the difference?

design
Motorola Moto G5 Plus is made of metal body in which a fingerprint sensor is provided in a capacitive button on the front. This phone has a round camera and flash module on the rear like Moto Z. The dimension of this phone is 150.2 x 74 x 7.7 mm. This phone will be available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold color. There is the familiar Moto M logo on the rear.
Talking about Moto G4 Plus, its dimensions are 153 x 76.6 x 9.8 millimeters. The weight of both the phones is 155 grams. But the G5 Plus is a little more compact and a little thinner too. It looks a little less premium because it has a metal frame but its rear is made of plastic. It has a square fingerprint sensor on the front.
The G4 Plus also has the ‘M’ logo, identifying it as a Motorola device. But the camera on the rear looks a little less better than the G5. G4 Plus comes in black and white color variants.

Motorola Moto G5 Plus sports a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution. The density of the screen is 423 PPI.
The company has an IPS LCD display in Moto G5 Plus, which comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Whereas Motorola Moto G4 Plus has a 5.5 inch display whose resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The density of the screen is 401 PPI. This means that the new device will be sharper than before.
Moto G4 Plus also has IPS display and it also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Motorola claims that the Moto G5 Plus has the ‘most advanced in class’ camera. It has a 12-megapixel dual autofocus pixel rear camera which comes with aperture F/1.7 and 1.4 ultramegapixel. Dual LED flash is provided in this phone.
At the same time, on the front, Moto G5 Plus has a 5 megapixel front camera with aperture F / 2.2, display flash and 1.4 ultramega pixels for taking selfies.
Motorola Moto G4 Plus sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection and laser autofocus, which comes with aperture F/.2 and dual LED flash. This phone also has a 5 megapixel front camera with aperture F/2.2 and auto-HDR.

Motorola Moto G5 Plus has Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, 4 GB RAM / 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM / 64 GB storage. (with microSD card support). This phone has a 3000 mAh battery which supports turbo power charging. The battery is claimed to provide six hours of battery life in 15 minutes of charging. The Moto G5 Plus has a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, a fingerprint sensor, and Micro-USB.
Motorola Moto G4 Plus has the option of Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage or 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. MicroSD card support is also available. Like the new G5 Plus, the Moto G4 Plus has a 3000 mAh battery. It also supports fast charging. The G4 Plus has a fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The new Motorola Moto G5 Plus runs on Android Nougat. You will also get the experience of Motorola Display and Motorola Actions.
Whereas Moto G4 Plus was launched with Android Marshmallow. But now it has been upgraded to Nougat, which will give the same software experience on both the phones.

Motorola Moto G5 Plus comes with a more premium design. It has better hardware and camera than before.
Some things are similar in both the phones. Like battery and RAM (depends on which variant you choose). The screen size has been reduced in G5 Plus but overall many of the changes that were expected have been made in it.
