Nokia 3310 with new avatar will be the first Android phone to arrive in India

On the sidelines of Mobile World Congress, Gadgets 360 spoke to Ajay Mehta, Vice President, HMD Global, about the new phones and the company’s strategy related to them.

He said, “Our effort is to launch Android phones in the end of May and beginning of June.” However, the new 3310 may arrive before all of these. He further said, “The date of Nokia 3310 is still under discussion. We would like to launch it before the smartphone. But nothing has been decided yet.”
Recently there was a report that the company will be a part of ‘Make in India’ program and new Nokias will be made in India only. However, Mehta told Gadgets 360 that no final decision has been taken on this yet.
Mehta said, “The plan is to make all the phones in India. And we are also working with Foxconn to make it happen. If they are not successful in increasing the production, then the products will be sourced from Vietnam or China.” Will be brought. But the desire is to make in India.”
Ajay Mehta informed that Nokia will sell these phones in online as well as offline market. However, “he also said that some smartphones will be online exclusive and some offline exclusive. The same product will not be sold on both the platforms.”
He said, “We will choose all the retail platforms through which we can reach the customers. That is, our strategy is for every channel. Be it online or offline. And our effort will also be that the products are exclusive to one platform.”
