Earth Airglow from space 400 km above the Earth Nasa shared photo know about it
NASA has shared this picture on Instagram. The latest post has revealed that this photo was taken from the International Space Station on November 14. At that time the ISS was at an altitude of about 418 kilometers above the Earth over America. NASA wrote- A view of Earth from the space station during orbital night. It can be seen in the picture that the Moon is shining above the Earth. The twinkling lights below show that that place is the earth’s surface.
According to NASA, the brightest light near the horizon in this picture is the city of Chicago. The more light visible at the bottom left is the city of Denver, America. The biggest feature of the picture is that Airglow is being formed in it, which is a yellow line like light above the earth. Airglow looks like aurora, but the process of their formation is different.
According to NASA, solar winds play an important role in the formation of aurora, while airglow is the result of day-to-day solar radiation. The temperature, density and composition of particles in the upper atmosphere play an important role in the formation of airglow.
However, this picture of NASA is being liked a lot by the users. It has received more than 7.8 lakh likes and many comments so far. According to NDTV, many users called the picture amazing and many called it beautiful. Just a few days ago, NASA had shared a picture taken from the space station, in which Aurora was captured. That aurora was captured in the sky of Utah, America.
