WhatsApp banned more than 14 lakh accounts in India, know why?

yaitoolbox@gmail.com9 months ago02 mins

WhatsApp banned 14.26 lakh accounts in the month of February. The platform has imposed this ban on the basis of complaints received from users on the grievance channel and its system mechanism. WhatsApp gave this information by releasing its monthly report.

WhatsApp has said that it received 335 complaints and action was taken on 21 accounts between February 1 and February 21. Out of the total complaints received, 194 were for ban while other complaints were received regarding support, product support and safety.

“We respond to all complaints, except those that appear to have been submitted twice or are duplicates. An account is said to be ‘actioned’ based on the complaint when it is either banned or blocked due to an old complaint. Reactivated on Aadhaar basis.” The messaging platform said in a report released on Friday.

According to the report, WhatsApp banned 14.26 lakh accounts in February. Indian accounts are identified by the +91 phone number.

A WhatsApp official said via email, “This user safety report provides information about user complaints and actions taken on accounts. It includes all the steps we took to prevent any kind of abusive behavior on the platform. In the latest report of February, WhatsApp has banned 14 lakh accounts.

In the last few years, WhatsApp has continuously invested in Artificial Intelligence. Along with this, many other techniques have also been used. Apart from this, data scientists and experts have also been included so that a secure platform can be provided to the users.
