Aditya L1 Mission reached 1.21 lakh kilometers away from the Earth fourth jump towards Sun

India’s first solar mission ‘Aditya L-1’ has taken another step towards its orbit. ISRO’s spacecraft, set out to study the Sun, successfully entered the Earth’s orbit from one orbit to another for the fourth time in the early hours of Friday. Indian Space Agency has shared this information on social media platform ‘X’. The space agency wrote in a post that for the fourth time the process of changing the Earth’s orbit (EBN-4) has been completed. ISRO has said that ISRO’s ‘ground stations’ at Mauritius, Bangalore, SDSC-SHAR and Port Blair monitored the spacecraft during this campaign.

After the change in orbit, the minimum distance of Aditya L-1 from the Earth has become 256 kilometers and the maximum distance has become 1 lakh 21 thousand 973 kilometers. ISRO has said that the next process of orbit change will be done on September 19 at around 2 am.

Aditya-L-1 is India’s first space-based observatory. It will study the Sun around the Sun-Earth’s first Lagrangian point (L1), about 15 lakh kilometers away from the Earth. This distance may seem very large to you, but it is only 1 percent of the total distance between the Earth and the Sun.

The orbit of Aditya-L-1 has been changed earlier also. The orbit of the spacecraft was changed three times one after the other on September 3, 5 and 10. Aditya L-1 mission took off on 2 September this month. Its goal is to reach the first Sun-Earth Lagrangian point (L1). This is a place with balanced gravity between the Earth and the Sun, which space agencies also call ‘parking’.

L1 point is 15 lakh kilometers away from the Earth. From here the sun can always be kept an eye on. When the mission starts its work, ISRO will be able to know solar activities in real time. Aditya Spacecraft has taken with it 7 scientific instruments. All of these are indigenous and have been prepared by various departments of India. With the help of instruments, different parts of the Sun will be studied.
