Aditya L1 spacecraft sent the first selfie and moon earth image on the journey to the Sun photos

Aditya-L1 First Selfie: The journey of India’s first solar mission Aditya L-1 (Aditya-L1), which was launched last Saturday, continues. The country’s first space-based observatory, which set out on a journey of 120 days, is currently circling the Earth. During this time ‘Aditya’ has taken his first selfie. Also the Earth and the Moon have been captured on camera. Indian Space Agency ISRO has shared this information in the form of a video.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, ISRO has written that Aditya-L1 is scheduled for the Sun-Earth L1 point. It has taken selfies and captured images of the Earth and the Moon. ISRO has shared a 26-second video, in which Aditya’s selfie and Moon-Earth can be seen. The selfie and images were taken on September 4.

Immediately after that, the orbit of Aditya L-1 was changed. At present, Aditya’s minimum distance from the Earth is 282 kilometers and maximum distance is 40 thousand 225 kilometers. The new change in the orbit of ‘Aditya L1’ will be done on 10 September 2023 at around 2.30 am.

Aditya-L1 Mission:
The second Earth-bound maneuver (EBN#2) is performed successfully from ISTRAC, Bengaluru.

ITRAC/ISRO’s ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru and Port Blair tracked the satellite during this operation.

The new orbit attained is 282 km x 40225 km.

The country’s first space-based observatory ‘Aditya L1’ will study the outer atmosphere of the Sun by staying in the Sun-Earth Lagrangian Point (L-1), about 15 lakh kilometers away from the Earth. On 2nd of this month, ‘Aditya L1’ was successfully launched from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The first change in the satellite’s orbit was made on September 3. It still has to go through many processes. The big turning point for the mission will be to get it closer to the Sun.

The L1 point where it will go is only 1 percent of the total distance between the Sun and the Earth. This is a place from where the sun can be monitored every moment.
