Airtel Changes New Voice and SMS only tariff plans, trai may scrutinize new plans, Reliance Jio

Bharti Airtel, one of the big telecom companies, recently introduced new tariff plans for calls and SMS. At the end of the previous year, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) made it mandatory for telecom companies to bring only calls and SMS plans. After giving information about scrutiny of TRAI’s new tariff plans, Bharti Airtel has made changes in special tariff vouchers for these plans.

Earlier, Airtel had updated its current prepaid plans with data with calls and SMS with a new recharge voucher. The company has launched a new plan of Rs 499. It had unlimited calls and 84 days validity with 900 SMS. Apart from this, Airtel introduced a plan of Rs 1,959, it had unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMS with 365 days validity. The price of Airtel’s Rs 499 plan has been reduced to Rs 469 and the price of Rs 1,959 plan has come down to Rs 1,849. However, both these plans have the same benefit as the previous recharge vouchers. Airtel has not explained why the price of these prepaid plans has been reduced.

Reliance Jio has launched a Rs 458 plan to follow the Telecom Regulator’s rule. It will have an 84 -day validity with unlimited voice calls and 1,000 SMS. The company has also provided a plan of Rs 1,958. It will have unlimited voice calls and 365 days validity with 3,600 SMS. These tariff plans will benefit those users who do not use data. TRAI has also taken some measures to deal with the problem of spam calls and messages. Telecom companies were also fined for failing to curb this problem. Earlier, these companies have been fined under the Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR).
