Airtel Satellite Internet Service Expected to Start Soon Before Elon Musk Starlink in India Heres how it works

Bharti Enterprises filed an application with the Telecom Department, DOT under the Central Government to start satellite telecom service last month. Only after this approval, the company can start satellite broadband service. On the other hand, Billionaire Elon Musk’s company Starlink is also making every effort to step into India. However, it appears that Airtel is gearing up among its rivals to achieve the lead in India. According to the company’s vice chairman, Rajan Bharti Mittal, Bharti is waiting for the enterprises spectrum allocation and has already prepared two stations in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The company is only waiting to get permission, after which Aytel will become the first company to give satellite telecom in India.

Recently, telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that the consumers will get more options by doing allocation of satellite spectrum. He misrepresent the apprehension of Reliance Jio that it would benefit Starlink. Starlink was having a dispute with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio for the process of giving spectrum for satellite internet service for the last few months. Reliance Jio demanded a auction for the satellite spectrum. However, the government has decided to allocate this spectrum according to the International Trend. Analysts say that this spectrum will require more investment and this can retreat international telecom companies.

Satellite broadband service is a type of internet service that works through satellite. It does not require fiber optic cable or mobile tower for data transmission, rather signals are sent directly from the satellite and received. This service requires a satellite dish and modem, which sends and receives data from the place of users to the satellite.
