The process of PAN card application is very easy. You can make PAN card online. For this, you can fill all the forms online, but you will have to post all the documents with the Income Tax Office. Start by making copies of the documents you need to send with your application.

These documents will be required for PAN card application…

To submit the application, you will need to upload several documents on the PAN Services Unit website. You have to upload identity card, address proof, date of birth certificate and photograph. You will need to take a scanned copy of one document from each of the sections given below.

1. Identity Card
To get a PAN card, any one of these documents can be sent as identity proof.

Aadhaar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India
voter id card
driving license
Passport
ration card with photo
arms license
Photo identity card issued by the Central Government or State Government or any PSU
pension card with photo
Central Government Health Service Scheme Card or Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Photo Card
Certificate of identity card signed by MP or MLA or Councilor or Gazetted Officer

2. Proof of address
Along with photo ID, you will also have to provide your address proof with your application. Attach one of these documents to your form:

Aadhaar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India
voter id card
driving license
Passport
spouse’s passport
Post office passbook giving address of the applicant
Latest Property Tax Assessment Order
Domicile certificate issued by the government
Allotment Letter of Accommodation issued by Central or State Government (not older than 3 years)
property registration
Address certificate signed by MP or MLA or Councilor or any Gazetted Officer
Original certificate issued by the company

You can also use these documents, but it should not be more than three months old.

3. Date of Birth Certificate
Any one of the following documents can be presented as date of birth certificate:

Birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation or by any office authorized by the Registrar of Births and Deaths to issue certificates of birth and death. Or through the Indian Consulate.

10th class passing certificate
Passport
driving license
Domicile certificate issued by the government

4. Photo
You will also have to send two of your photographs along with the PAN card application.

Once you have all the documents, do the following:

5. You should not face any problem in filling the fields like name, gender, address. Yes, take special care while selecting the documents you are going to submit. You can select the form in the drop down menu at point 15.
