Apple to Manufacture iPhone 16 Pro Models in India, Company Targets to Diversify its Manufacturing from China

American devices maker Apple’s iPhone 16 series can be launched next month. Premium smartphones of this series can be assembled in the country for the first time. Apple has planned to shift a large part of its manufacturing to China. Under this scheme, the manufacturing of the company’s smartphones can be increased in India.

There are reports that apple has started training workers in a new manufacturing process in its factories. The company started manufacturing in the country in 2017 with iPhone SE. After this, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 were also made in the country. According to Bloomberg report, manufacturing of iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be important for Apple. This will be the first time that the company will manufacture its iPhone Pro models outside China. In China, these smartphones are manufactured by Apple’s contract manufacturers Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus of the iPhone 15 series introduced last year were also made in the country. Recently, tipster Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) shared the color options of the iPhone 16 Pro along with images of dummy units on social media platform X. These colors include white, gray gold and black. From this image, the diagonally installed rear cameras of the iPhone 16 Pro are visible. In iPhone 16 Pro, the blue titanium color of iPhone 15 Pro can be replaced by a new gold color.

Earlier, tipster Instant Digital had said in a post on China’s messaging platform Weibo that higher capacity batteries can be provided in iPhone 16 Pro models. The iPhone 16 Pro of this series can have a 3,577 mAh battery and the iPhone 16 Pro Max can have a 4,441 mAh battery. However, the company has not disclosed the battery capacity of the upcoming iPhone series. iPhone 16 may have a 6.1 inch OLED display. A18 Bionic chip can be found in iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus and A18 Pro chip can be found in iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max may support 40 W wired charging and 20 W wireless charging using MagSafe.
