Many asteroids are coming closer to the Earth one after the other. American space agency NASA has warned about a rocky disaster about 88 feet high. It has been told that ‘Asteroid 2023 HH7’ will reach closest to our Earth today i.e. on 4th May. It will pass through the Earth at a distance of 8 lakh 39 thousand kilometers, due to which it has been kept in the category of ‘potentially dangerous’. Scientists will keep an eye on this asteroid until it goes far away from the Earth.

The direction of asteroids can change suddenly and at any time. If this happens and the direction is towards the Earth, the asteroid can cause devastation. Scientists have been believing that millions of years ago, dinosaurs were wiped out from our earth due to the destruction caused by an asteroid collision.

NASA’s According‘Asteroid 2023 HH7’ is coming towards our planet at a high speed of about 88 thousand 396 kilometers per hour. It belongs to the Apollo Group of Asteroids. Its size is like that of an aeroplane. However, there is no possibility of it colliding with the Earth.

According to the information, the shape of most asteroids is irregular. Some are circular, while many appear oval. Many asteroids have their own moon, while many have two moons. Scientists have also discovered double and triple asteroid systems. In all these cases the asteroid revolves around another asteroid.

When asteroids come close to the Earth, scientists look at the distance between them and the Earth. For this the help of satellite and radar is taken. Most asteroids orbit in the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter, but many asteroids have orbits that pass near Earth. Asteroids that cross Earth’s orbital path are known as Earth-crossers.
