Astronomers discovered Earth sized planet, distance of only 72 light years

There are many mysteries in space about which information is difficult to find. A team of astronomers has discovered an Earth-sized exoplanet. It is being called K2-415b and it is revolving around an M dwarf star. Its distance from Earth is only 72 light years.

One published in the Astronomical Journal Report According to, this discovery has been made by an international team of astronomers led by Teruyuki Hirano of Astrobiology Center in Japan. Hirano said, “Some of the small planets around the M dwarf are important for the search for rocky planets and any planet with habitable conditions. This planet is about the same size as Earth. It will be an interesting target for further findings. ” Astronomers discovered this planet while analyzing data from the Kepler telescope.

After studying this exoplanet, researchers found out that its size is almost similar to the Earth. It takes only four days to complete one round. It is likely to have an atmosphere, making it important for further research. The world’s largest telescope in space, the James Webb Telescope, has been giving us new information about the universe since last year. Recently this telescope discovered a planet outside the solar system. For the first time, this telescope has discovered a planet (exoplanet) outside our solar system, which is almost like Earth. The term exoplanet is used for those planets which do not revolve around the Sun. This planet named LHS 475 b is similar to our Earth. Its diameter is 99 percent as much as the diameter of the Earth.

This planet was first detected by NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and then it seemed that it could be a planet. This was confirmed after inspection from James Webb Telescore. LHS 475 b is 41 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Octans. However, it is difficult to say how likely it is for a planet like Earth to have life.
