We have included in this list only those smartphones which have been launched in the last 6 months. Apart from this, these smartphones have also been reviewed by Gadgets 360. If your favorite handset is not on this list, it may be that it was launched before our deadline or we did not receive a review unit.
1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Launched in November, this smartphone is the best phone available under Rs 15,000 today. Equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD screen, this handset has a 1.4 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. We liked its display and battery life, but the camera could have been better.
2. Lenovo Vibe S1
Vibe S1 has a 5-inch full-HD screen, 13-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera. The smartphone has a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor with 3 GB RAM. The inbuilt storage of the phone is 32 GB which can be expanded with a microSD card up to 128 GB. The display of the phone is good and the same can be said about the build quality. However, the battery life disappointed us.
3. Gionee Marathon M5 Lite
This 5-inch phone has been named on the basis of battery life. The performance of the phone is also good in this department. It also looks good and the build quality is said to be sturdy. But it is a bit heavy and this is because of the big battery.
4. Motorola Moto G Gen 3
The oldest phone on this list, the Moto G (Gen 3) is still very popular and there are many reasons for this. The handset has a 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1 GB RAM. Inbuilt storage is 8 GB and you will also be able to use microSD card up to 32 GB. The phone is water resistant. You will get the stock Android experience and it has proven to be reliable so far.
5. Lenovo Vibe K4 Note
Equipped with a 5.5-inch display, Lenovo Vibe K4 Note, launched in January, has a 13-megapixel primary and 5-megapixel front camera. The handset also has a fingerprint scanner which works fast. With this device you will also be able to use VR headset.
6. Asus Zenfone Max
There are also two more variants of this phone with 5.5 inch display. But we liked this variant during the review. Looks and build quality is good. Its autofocus is fast and accurate. Camera performance was good in closed environments.
7. LeEco Le 1s
Launched in October 2015, LeEco Le1s runs on Android 5.0. It has a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. Le 1S has a 13-megapixel primary camera and also a 5-megapixel selfie camera. This is a good looking phone and its performance is also good. We were also pleased with the display and speakers. Software could be better. Camera and battery could have been better.
8. Intex Aqua GenX
This handset was launched in the month of December. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch full-HD display, 1.3 GHz octa-core CPU and 3 GB RAM. Performance is good, although camera performance would be called average. But this phone gets a little hot. The design and build quality is excellent, and the display is also quite good.
9. Acer Liquid Z630S
This dual-SIM smartphone has a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 3 GB RAM. Its front and rear camera is 8 megapixels. This phone is great for selfie lovers, but the performance of the rear camera will be called average. Battery life and build of the phone is good. Its inbuilt storage is 32 GB.
10. Micromax Canvas 5
The Canvas 5 has a 5.2-inch full-HD display, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 3 GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera. The 2900 mAh battery present in the smartphone cannot be removed. The battery life of the phone disappoints. Because it takes too much time to charge. However, the display is crisp. The camera is great for close up shots. Overall the performance of the phone will be called good.
