And we thought all the best smartphones are around Rs 15,000 and the most expensive option on our list comes at Rs 16,999.

So check out our list and find out what the market has for you under Rs 20,000. We have included in this list only those smartphones which we have reviewed.

Best smartphones under Rs 20,000:

nubia z11 mini s
The newest phone to join this list is the Nubia Z11 Mini S. The price of this phone is Rs 16,999. This phone competes with the new Moto G5 Plus (Review), whose top variant has the same price and specifications. The design of this phone is good and the phone looks beautiful. With a great camera and great performance, the phone’s battery lasts a whole day. The lack of fast charging in the phone is a drawback, because the phone charges only 36 percent in an hour.

moto g5 plus
Priced at Rs 16,999, Motorola G5 Plus (Review) is the new device from Motorola and it is better than its previous variant. Talking about the shortcomings, the loudspeaker of the phone is not very good and the low light camera performance could have been better. The phone also gets a little hot. However, the near-stock Android Nougat experience, turbo charging support make it a good option. Due to Motorola’s design and build quality, you can see that Motorola remains a big player in this segment even amidst the increasing competition.

If your budget is not too high, then you can definitely choose Moto G4 Plus. The previous generation Moto G4 Plus is still a great option and is available online for less than Rs 2,000. The previous phone performed well in all departments, however the new Moto G5 Plus is a phone worth buying with some software improvements. So if you are on a budget, the Moto G4 Plus is not a bad option.

samsung galaxy j7 prime
Talking about low price, Samsung does not have an option in this range like the two smartphones mentioned above. But for anything above Rs 15,000, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (Review) is a strong device. This phone performs well across the board, especially in terms of battery life and software. The fingerprint sensor can be a bit of a problem, which is surprising in 2017. The phone’s great screen, smart power management and an overall design and build quality make it a great package.

lenovo z2 plus
Along with Motorola, Lenovo has also introduced many good and successful phones in the sub-Rs 20,000 price range. Lenovo Z2 Plus (Review) is a phone that comes with a lot of features and high-end specifications at a good price. The design and build quality along with great performance and battery life make it a phone worth buying. This phone comes with fast charging capability, which is a useful feature. However, the charger that comes with it is disappointing and it does not charge fast. Apart from this, camera performance could also be improved.

Apart from this, the previous generation smartphone Lenovo Zuk Z1 is also a budget smartphone worth buying, which is Rs 1,500 cheaper than the Z2 Plus.

Xiaomi Mi Max
The last name in this list is Xiaomi Mi Max, which looks more like a phablet than a phone. The Xiaomi Mi Max (Review) is a great option with a larger screen, especially for the price. Despite its large size, the phone looks good with its 6.44 inch screen. The display of the phone is excellent and it performs like a champ. Apart from this, another special thing is that, despite being of large size, its 4850 mAh battery performs brilliantly.

Apart from this, Xiaomi Mi Max Prime, which comes for Rs 19,999, also makes its place in this list. However, we have not reviewed this variant so we cannot say anything about its specifications. Mi Max Prime has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. It has 4 GB RAM and comes in 128 GB storage variant. On paper, it looks like an upgrade but perhaps not worth paying Rs 5,000 more. If you have a budget in mind, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is a good option. Its price starts from Rs 10,000, but we would recommend you to buy the variant with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Its price is Rs 12,999. Like most budget smartphones, camera performance is average but elsewhere the phone does not disappoint. And the build quality and battery life is also good.

These are our top five smartphones in the less than Rs 20,000 segment. Apart from these five, we have also suggested you three budget smartphones. But we would also recommend you to buy Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and Lenovo K6 Power available in the market priced below Rs 10,000.

These two phones are almost identical, although the Lenovo K6 Power has a higher-resolution Full HD display. Both have Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. Lenovo’s phone runs at a slightly higher clock speed. Apart from this both the phones are similar. The price of these phones has been kept low with good design, strength and excellent battery life.

Tell us by commenting below which of these phones did you like? And which other phones should we include in our list.
