Big change in WhatsApp video group call, now 8 people will talk simultaneously

On his Facebook post, Zuckerberg wrote that (translated) “More than 700 million people use WhatsApp and Messenger to make calls. “Calling has doubled since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in many countries.”
WhatsApp head Will Cathcart has also revealed in a tweet that these changes will be released for Android and iPhone users next week. Meaning, the next stable version update of WhatsApp will bring this new change and the users who download it will be able to do group calling with eight people instead of four.
In his Facebook post, Zuckerberg also announced several new features from other Facebook products and highlighted Messenger Rooms as well. Virtual Rooms are also being added to Facebook Messenger, which will allow users of the chat app to talk with more than 50 people at the same time.
